INTRODUCING TAVAN
TAVAN is Orange County’s newest Small Business Growth and Resilience Hub — a community-powered initiative by the Orange County Iranian American Chamber of Commerce (OCIACC). Designed for underserved entrepreneurs, TAVAN delivers culturally responsive business advisory services, green economy training, and financial literacy programs with a bold mission: to advance economic mobility and climate resilience where it’s needed most.
In Persian, TAVAN (توان) means “power” — and that’s what we’re building: the power to grow, to lead, and to thrive. What We Do
- Provide technical assistance, mentorship, and business strategy support to underserved business owners.
- Deliver financial literacy training and help small businesses access loans, grants, and green capital.
- Train residents in home-based green economy jobs, with an emphasis on the childcare sector and sustainability-focused entrepreneurship.
- Connect immigrant, minority-owned, and disinvested businesses to resources, networks, and opportunity.
Who We Serve
- Entrepreneurs in historically excluded communities across Orange County disinvested census tracts
- Immigrant and bilingual business owners navigating language, regulatory, and capital access barriers
- Community members seeking economic mobility through home-based enterprises and green workforce tracks
